OSS welcomes visitors to its booth at the 2019 Madrid Conference on Climate Change (COP25), December 9-10, 2019

When it comes to climate action, we shall not leave Africa behind!

That is the slogan of the OSS participation at the COP25 in Madrid this year. The OSS team, currently on site in Madrid, will welcome visitors to its booth n°28, on December 9-10, 2019. On this occasion, the new OSS releases will be available: Regional atlases of land use maps in the Sahel and West Africa area and the MENA region, access guides to climate funds, and for young people, a variety of water tales from the Maghreb, published in the framework of the Regional Cooperation Project for the Sustainable Water Resources Management in the Maghreb | CREM. Visitors will also be able to learn about the OSS mission and the main lines of its intervention through the projects it implements and runs, in member countries and partners in Africa.

Three major events are also organized by the OSS, namely:

  • The OSS official side event on "Trans-boundary groundwater, a climate change mitigation and adaptation solution for Africa" - Tuesday December 10, 2019, 11.30 - 13.00, Blue Zone - Room 2.
  • A side event on "Early warning systems, fundamental tools for adaptation to climate change in Africa, achievements and prospects" - Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 9:00 - 10:30, Blue Zone, OiF Pavilion
  • A side event on "Local communities and climate change, from commitment to action" - Wednesday December 11, 2019 - 15:00 - 16:30, Blue Zone, OiF Pavilion.
