The Coordination Unit of the Consultation Mechanism of the North Western Sahara Aquifer System (NWSAS), shared by 3 countries (Algeria, Tunisia & Libya), is organizing a workshop & training on initiation to modelling on March 15-18, 2020.
The meeting was held semi-face-to-face in the OSS premises & on the zoom virtual platform, with the participation of approximately thirty participants, professionals (engineers & technicians) working in the water sector, in particular the representatives of the countries involved in the NWSAS database as well as water management & modelling.
Mr. Hussein Talloua, Coordinator of the NWSAS Coordination Mechanism & Mr. Mourad Briki, Coordinator of the Watch & Prospective program & interim of the OSS Executive Secretary opened the meeting. In his speech, delivered on behalf of the OSS Executive Secretary, Mr. Briki stressed the importance of the NWSAS resources for the 3 countries & the need to control information & data for a rational use taking into account the needs of future generations.
The purpose of the workshop is to promote awareness of the process & functionalities of the PM5 software tools as well as modelling techniques related to hydrogeological data processing.
