Enhancing resilience of communities to climate change through catchment based integrated management of water and related resources in Uganda

The launching workshop of the EURECCCA project, funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by OSS, was held on 5 May 2017 in Kampala, Republic of Uganda. The workshop was marked by the presence of Mrs. Sam CHEPTORIS, Minister of Water and Environment (MWE) of Uganda, Mr. Alfred OKOT OKIDI, Permanent Secretary of Water and Environment at the Ministry, Mr. Nabil BEN KHATRA, coordinator of the Environment Program at OSS, and Mrs. Khaoula JAOUI, EURECCA project manager at OSS.  

Were also present, representative parliamentarians of the project areas of intervention (Maziba, Aswa and Awoja), representatives of the Directorate of Water Resources Management, the Directorate of Water Resources Planning and Regulation and representatives of the Water Zone Management (Water Zone Management Focal Points), in addition to other members of the MWE Financial Directorate.
The workshop provided also an opportunity to present the EURECCCA project to the different partners and international organizations present, such as the World Bank, GIZ, the Danish Cooperation Agency, DANIDA, as well as to other representatives of the civil society and the private sector.
