The 2nd training workshop on modeling in the North Western Sahara Aquiferra - SASS was organized in Tunis by the OSS, in partnership with the GWP - Med.
The workshop was opened by Mr. Rachid TAIBI, Coordinator of the SASS Coordination Mechanism, Mrs. Houria Hermassi (DGRE Tunis) and Mr. Rachid El Futaissi (GWA Libya) who also delivered a welcome address.
Led by Mohamedou Sy, GIS database manager, modeling and training at the OSS, this training should allow the 15 experts in the field of water resources of the 3 countries (Algeria, Libya and Tunisia) to refine their knowledge in the field of modeling. Hydrogeological models are used to simulate underground flows or underground flows, and the transport of pollutants in groundwater. This workshops was organized in addition to the first workshop, which was also held in Tunis, from 9 to 13 July 2018.
On the occasion of this workshop, the experts will be invited, under the guidance of Ms. Sarra Touzi, Senior Program Officer of GWP-Med and Mr. Rachid Taibi, to discuss priority actions to be defined for the formulation of a new project in the SASS basin, shared by the 3 countries.
